Be AUTHENTIC in 2021!!

“I’ve always loved the idea of not being what people expect me to be.” Dita Von Teese

As I sat and thought about my word for the new year, my mind kept going back to “authentic” or “authenticity”. In my last therapy sesh, she assigned me to make a couple of lists, and her instructions were to be as intentional and as AUTHENTIC as I could be. Looking at the continued success of “The Beauty in the Breakdown” and how I try to live my life as genuine and real as I possibly can, I figured this would be a great mindset go into 2021 with: AUTHENTIC!

In a world of social media, where we have fake bodies, fake personalities, fake flossing and fronting, it can be difficult to be and even love your authentic self. Everyone ain’t who they “post” to be and trying to keep up with those damn “Joneses” is exhausting; you will find yourself losing yourself to a world that honestly doesn’t even exist! There are no perfect bodies, no perfect marriages, no perfect parents, no perfect lives, no perfect people!! But we will spend our last piece of energy trying to show up as who we think the world will accept rather than our AUTHENTIC selves! I’ve been there!

I challenge us all to AUTHENTICALLY show up as ourselves for ourselves in this next year! No matter what/who that looks like, be you!! Have the courage to be yourself without needing the external approval to feel good about you and your actions! Remember the only person you need to please is God! He loves you flaws and all, and extends that good ol’ grace and mercy to help make you a better you! You will never be perfect, but you can always be genuine! Do and be whatever and whoever makes your soul smile! To be authentic requires vulnerability, transparency, and integrity! Stand in your truth, stand in who you are, and fearlessly show up as that person every day!

I love you all!! Don't forget to pick up your copy of "The Beauty in the Breakdown" and follow @_talithaktyler on IG for more! See you in 2021!!
